In November 1993, Mother Jones became the first general-interest magazine in the country to offer its content online.

From its inception, MotherJones.com has broadened the reach and impact of the Foundation for National Progress through its blend of original content and the unique conceptualization of topics first presented in the pages of Mother Jones Magazine.

Julian Brookes, Editor

Julian joined MotherJones.com as assistant editor in September 2003, and became editor a year later. He's on his second stint here, having toiled as an intern at the magazine in 1998-99. In between, he worked as director of research for a software start-up company. He's a graduate of Edinburgh and Cambridge universities and, more recently, of Columbia University's journalism school, where he graduated first in his class, winning the top student prize, the Pulitzer Fellowship.

Ed Homich, Product Manager

Ed has been at MotherJones.com since 2003. Previously he was executive director online for the wildly successful magazine Business 2.0. He also worked as the Director of Product/Editorial Development for Imagine Media’s Computing Division, where he oversaw five magazine web portals, including MaximumPC.com and MacAddict.com. In a previous life, he was an award-winning photojournalist. His photos have appeared in the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and National Geographic.

Robert Wise, Webmaster

As webmaster, Robert is responsible for the httpd, cms, oas, mt, php, perl,and js that keep the site up and running. He has a degree in computerscience but learned most of this by trial and error, with a little help fromvarious O'Reilly books. He is avidlyinterested in the use of open source software by non-profit organizations.Outside of the office he is active in college radio and enthusiastic aboutindependent music.
