During the time that the US was engaged in a war with Iraq, Rep. McCollum made a quick-trade stock purchase in defense electronics company--Quantum Corp.

On January 23, 1991, Rep. McCollum purchased between 1,000 and 15,000 dollars worth of Feb. 17 1/2 stock call-options in Quantum Corp. Quantum is a defense electronics firm specializing in computer storage systems. Rep. McCollum sold his call-options on February 5, 1991 (the day after President Bush sent his 1992 Budget to Congress).

VOTE NOTES: Rep. McCollum voted AYE on the resolution to use force against Iraq.

NOTES: Rep. McCollum served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War; he has served in the US Navy Reserve since 1972.
