SEN. DON RIEGLE (D-MI)

On August 9, 1993, Sen. Riegle purchased 300 shares of LDDS/Metromedia valued at 12,607 dollars.

One day later (August 10), President Clinton signed 103 P.L. 66: the OMNIBUS BUDGET RECONCILIATION ACT OF 1993. Title VI of this act is COMMUNICATIONS LICENSING AND SPECTRUM ALLOCATION IMPROVEMENT, which amends the National Telecommunications and Information Information Organization act with respect to auctionable frequencies in telecommunications.

Later in the year, Sen. Riegle purchased additional shares in LDDS/Metromedia (50 shares on October 27; 150 shares on December 27) valued at 9,228 dollars. Moreover, he purchased 140 shares in MCI on October 13, valued at 3,798 dollars.

Notes: Sen. Riegle is # 4 on the Senate Budget Committee, and would have been actively involved in crafting the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act.
