REP. FRED GRANDY (R-IO)

On October 26, 1992, Rep. Grandy purchased between 15,000 and 50,000 dollars of stock in Biogen (a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer).

On October 30, 1992, President Bush signed P.L. 571 "...To authorize human drug application, prescription drug establishment, and prescription drug product fees."

On November 5, 1992, Rep. Grandy sold his Biogen stock. I estimate that his probable capital gain from this "quick trade" was between six and eight percent.

Note: Rep. Grandy sits on the House Ways and Means Health subcommittee, is a member of the House Biomedical Research Caucus, and is the ranking minority member on the House Ethics committee.
