REP. JAMES QUILLEN (R-TN)
- On March 30, 1992, Rep. Quillen purchased between 100,000 and 250,000 dollars worth of stock in Pall Corp. Through its Areopower Division, Pall Corp. is the world leader in filtration products for military programs.
On the same day (March 30, 1992), a bill was introduced in the House that would interest Pall Corp. The bill was H.R. 4695: NATIONAL DEFENSE STOCKPILE MODERNIZATION ACT...To require the President to dispose of materials in the National Defense Stockpile that are obsolete for military purposes or in excess supply in the stockpile and to acquire strategic and critical materials that are in inadequate supply in the stockpile (referred to House Armed Services Committee).
- On May 19, 1992, Rep. Quillen purchased stock in two utilities companies. Specifically, he purchased stock in Allegheny Power System Inc. (15,000 - 50,000 dollars), and Delmarva Power and Light (15,000 - 50,000 dollars).
On that same day, May 19, the House introduced and agreed to a RESOLUTION (H. RES. 459) PROVIDING FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF H.R. 776: COMPREHENSIVE NATIONAL ENERGY POLICY ACT (Became P.L. 102-486 on October 24, 1992.
RELATED POLITICAL MONEY NOTES: On September 3, 1992, Rep. Quillen received $2,000 for a speech to GenCorp Aerojet. This company manufactures solid and liquid rocket propulsion systems, ordnance systems and ammunition. This company would also be interested in H.R. 4695!!!
