REP. MELTON HANCOCK (R-MO)

On April 22, 1993, Rep. Hancock purchased between 15,000 and 50,000 dollars worth of stock in what appears to have been an INITIAL PUBLIC OFFERING in O'Reilly Automotive. He later sold this stock on June 21, 1993.

On May 22, 1993, Rep. Hancock purchased between 1,000 and 15,000 dollars worth of stock in Battle Mountain Gold. This purchase coincides with strong legislative activity concerning H.R. 322: MINERAL EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT ACT. This bill would severly restrict mining companies' operations on public lands.

POLITICAL MONEY NOTES: Rep. Hancock accepted a poltical contribution (250 dollars) from Charlie O'Reilly of O'Reilly Automotive on October 15, 1990.

VOTE NOTES: Rep. Hancock voted NAY on H.R. 322.

NOTES: Rep. Hancock is # 12 on the House Ways and Means Committee; he is # 1 on the Select Revenue Measures Subcommittee.
