Art of Democracy: War and Empire
September 4-November 4, 2008
San Francisco’s Meridian Gallery will host the Bay Area's most comprehensive show on art and politics. Work by some 40 artists will fill Meridian’s three-level, turn of the century building from early September through early November. Join us for the opening on September 4 from 6-9 pm.
New York is Book Country

The nation's premier book festival will be held in New York's Central Park. The event is free, and will feature authors, booths, book publishers, musical acts, and more. Check out Mother Jones' booth at the event, where you can meet us and pick up a subscription.
Artivist Film Festival
October 2-5, 2008
Artivist is the first international film festival dedicated to addressing human rights, children's advocacy, environmental preservation, and animal advocacy. The event will feature 40 films, shorts, documentaries, and narratives, produced by established and first-time filmmakers from 40 countries. Artivist has received public endorsements from global leaders and organizations including the United Nations and the Nobel family.
Bioneers

The Bioneers conference is a hub of practical solutions for restoring the Earth. This three-day event held in beautiful Marin Country features speakers, exhibitors, music, and more. DC Green Festival
